Commandant and Chief Director General message
On behalf of the Faculty, Board of Governors, and Govern in Council I would like to extend my sincere greetings. R. C. M. Academy is designed to serve Canada's youths. We believe in making things better. Better in that, it is not just a destination, but instead, it is a holistic approach; it is the spirit of continuous improvement. It is a journey of making things better for future generations.
Citizens, residents, and visitors are responsibility for the betterment of our society. As such, the R. C. M. Academy emphasis on leadership training, excellence in education, youth development, and the advancement of knowledge. With your commitment and communication, it's just going to keep getting better. Commandant and Chief Director GeneralThe Deputy Commandant and Chief Director General
Col Bob Barnabas is the Academy's Deputy Commandant and Deputy Chief Director General. Mr. Barnabas holds graduate degrees from the University of Toronto, and is an Ordained Minister. Mr. Barnabas is a certified Martial Arts instructor and Judge. He was a Commissioned Officer with the Canadian Forces. He is the principal adviser to the Commandant. Admissions
R. C. M. Academy welcomes Canadian and international applicants for the 2010-2011 academic year. The Academy has developed a distinct and positive educational atmosphere that challenges young men and women to reach their true potential. It's not too late to enroll your son and daughters. Openings are available for grade 7 to 10 academic programs. We encourage applicants to apply to the Academy's scholarship and bursaries program. It is the goal of the Academy to provide scholarships as well as bursaries to as many students entering the AcademyApplications can be downloaded from the Academy's website or contact the admissions office for more information.
A traditional military theme academy is a highly structured learning atmosphere where students learn to follow positive examples, while at the same time, learning valuable life skills and a set foundation for academic success, as well physical fitness and leadership training. The Academy is a military theme secondary school that prepares its students for all those high responsibilities that rest upon a citizen after graduation. RCMA is guided by these fundamental principles, each of its students pledging to act ethically and to fulfill his or her duties.

The Passing of our Honourary Colonel
Major 'Peggy' Downes, CD, peacefully passed away Thursday, June 4th, 2009 at the age of 70. She was appointed the Academy's Honourary Colonel in 2006. Major Downes, was appointed honourary aide-de-camp in the province of Ontario, She was the first African- Canadian female to receive the appointment of Aide de Camp serving five (5) Lieutenant Governors of Ontario in succession. Her many accomplishments defy imagination, with over 40 years experience in the Canadian Forces Reserve. We saluted her rich sense of service and excellence to duties. Do you tweet? R. C. M. The RCMA Educational Philosophy
Captain Silzer, passed away April 11th 2004. The Academy's educational philosophy of success through strong moral ethics, integrity, social responsibility, and self-discipline, has been greatly endorsed by the late Captain D. J. Silzer CD, an educator with the Toronto District School Board, and an officer in the Canadian Armed Forces. Along with Mr. Watson, he envisioned the many positive outcomes that could be achieved by a military academy. Captain Silzer was the Chief Adviser to the Commandant and Chief Director General on the Formation of RCMA, and would have been appointed the academy's first principal.
